If you are interested in switching rooms for the spring semester, applications will be available in the Ridge office starting Monday, December 5th. On December 5th, students who have empty spots in their apartment for the spring will be able to pull in students who they want to live in the apartment. Starting on December 6th, open spring rooms are up for grabs and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The room change process will end on Friday, December 9th at 4pm. After that time, the housing office will no longer honor any room change requests.

IMPORTANT: If you choose to move to a new hall/apartment/bedroom for the spring, you are required to move all of your belongings home for the winter break and move into your new space in the spring. You will need to have all of your belongings out and your keys turned in no later than Sunday, December 18th at noon.

If you have any questions about the process, please stop in the Ridge office.

Over winter break, the University Ridge staff will be in your apartment to conduct routine health and safety checks. You do not need to be present for the inspections and we will be locking all doors (including bedroom doors) when we leave the apartment. We will be going into all rooms in each apartment. Specifically, we will be making sure that smoke detectors and sprinkler heads have not been tampered with and are fully functional. We will also be making sure that apartments are clean and that there are no additional fire or safety hazards in the apartments. If issues are discovered, students that are living in the apartment could be held responsible for policy violations. If any other policy violations are discovered, that are not health and safety related, students may also be held responsible for those violations. If you have any questions, please contact the Ridge office.

Don’t forget! The Ridge is open 365 days a year! You are able to stay at the Ridge for the duration of your housing contract and are NOT required to leave for winter break. However, if you chose to go home over break, please make sure that you lock all doors and windows. We also suggest taking any valuable items with you when you go home.
