Jeff Kirkpatrick
Director
At the Ridge since 3/12/2009

Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Jeff’s Jayhawk roots took him to the University of Kansas for his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2005. At Kansas, he was a Senior Resident Assistant for three years in the Jayhawker Towers which was and is the Residence Hall for the Kansas basketball team. His experience as a RA led him to his current career in student affairs.

Jeff continued on his educational path to the University of Central Missouri where he studied College Student Personnel Administration earning his Masters of Science. After graduating, he accepted as a Residence Hall Director at the University at Buffalo and remained in that position for two years before accepting the Director position at the University Ridge Apartments in 2009.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoys watching movies, cooking, and playing outdoors with his three sons.


Luke Ackerman
Assistant Director of Residence Life
At the Ridge since 7/26/2005

Luke is originally from the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Northampton High School! Go KIDS! He did his undergraduate work at ESU where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. During his junior year at ESU, he was hired as a Resident Advisor in Laurel Hall and immediately fell in love with working in student affairs. After graduation, Luke became the Graduate Hall Director of Laurel Hall and eventually became the Resident Director in Linden Hall. When University Ridge was built and opened in 2005, Luke was hired as the Assistant Director for Student Affairs at the Ridge, and the rest is history!

For Luke, the best part of his job is advising and working with students. He oversees 3 summer RAs and 7 academic years RAs. He also oversees all conduct violations at the Ridge as well as programming.

For fun, Luke is a huge TV buff watching anything from talk shows, to reality TV, to cheesy made-for-TV movies. He also loves to travel and explore new places. Luke is heavily involved in local community theatre and enjoys spending time in NYC.


Jamie Terpstra
Assistant Director of Operations
At the Ridge since 10/20/2015

Jamie is originally from the Slate Belt Area of Pennsylvania and graduated from Bangor Area High School. She attended East Stroudsburg University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. While attending ESU Jamie worked for and completed an internship with CVS Pharmacy. Upon graduation Jamie accepted a management position with CVS and spent several years working in the Philadelphia and Trenton markets as a Store Manager and Trainer.

After making the decision to leave retail management, Jamie accepted a position as an Office Coordinator for a real estate company. The experience in management and real estate has led Jamie to her position as Assistant Director of Operations at the Ridge.

In her spare time, Jamie enjoys spending time with her three children, her husband, and extended family. She also enjoys reading and watching any episode of Castle.


Rich Sudnik
Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor
At the Ridge since 5/7/2007

Rich is originally from Linden, NJ and lived there for 30 years before moving to Marshalls Creek, PA in 1990. He is a 1978 graduate of Linden High School’s Vocational Graphic Arts program and worked in the printing industry for many years. He also worked as a delivery associate at Sysco Foodservice for 18 years making deliveries mainly in NYC.

Growing up, Rich’s parents owned rental property which led to him owning rental properties as well. He found his true calling in 2007 when he was hired by University Ridge as a Groundskeeper/Custodian, before being promoted to Maintenance Technician in 2010.

Rich enjoys living in the Poconos with his wife Julie, camping, traveling our great country and others, maintaining his rental properties, beekeeping, and working at University Ridge!


Mike Evans
Maintenance Technician
At the Ridge since 8/19/2015

Mike was born and raised in Stroudsburg. He graduated in 1981 from Stroudsburg High School.

Mike has been married for over 20 years and has two sons.

In his spare time, Mike likes to watch the Dallas Cowboys, ride motorcycles, fish, and hunt.


Mike Medina
Custodian/Groundskeeper
At the Ridge since 10/20/15

Michael is originally from Manhattan where he was born and raised. He moved to PA in 2008 with his wife and kids. Michael is a 1981 graduate from Forsyth High School  in NYC. Michael has worked in the construction and maintenance field; he has also worked as a property manager in Rocklyn County.

Michael enjoys attending Sunday services with his family, reading, and living in PA.

 

 


 

Tyler Adams
Custodian/Groundskeeper
At the Ridge since 10/19/15

Born and raised in East Stroudsburg, Tyler Adams graduated from East Stroudsburg High School South. After taking a year off to work he attended ESU and graduated with a theater degree.

Since graduating, Tyler spent time traveling and working at a NYC theater festival.

In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, doing beach body workouts, and watching TV shows such as Bob’s Burgers and The Walking Dead.

Jordan Allen
Returning Resident Advisor

Jordan is a junior majoring in Business Management and minoring in Economics. Post-graduation he intends to return to ESU for his Master’s in Business Administration. In addition to being an RA, Jordan is also the Treasurer of ESU’s LGBT+ organization P.R.I.D.E. and works at the LGBTQA Program Center in Shawnee Hall. In his spare time he likes to cook, play video games, watch movies, and sing. Jordan is super excited to be returning to the Ridge RA staff this year!

 

 

Eugene Piro
Resident Advisor

Gino Piro was born in Easton, Pennsylvania and has lived in the surrounding Pennsylvania area for all of his life, including Bloomsburg, Bethlehem, Quakertown, and at his current home in Wilson. For the 2015-2016 academic year, Gino is looking forward to working at the University Ridge as an RA. Gino is currently Undeclared in his major, but plans to major in Computer Science with a minor in English. In his free time, Gino enjoys playing video games, watching anime (Japanese cartoons) and reading manga (Japanese comics).

 

 

 

Taylor Pecharo
Resident Advisor

Taylor is from Limerick, Pennsylvania. She is a senior majoring in Rehabilitation and Human Services with a minor in Psychology. Taylor is involved in numerous organizations on campus such as Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, RSSO, Autism Speaks U and a few others. She loves to cook, watch Netflix and do anything that involves being outside!

 

 

 

 

Glenn Smith
Resident Advisor

Glenn currently resides in Scranton, PA, but is originally from Brooklyn, NY. He is a graduate student seeking his masters in political science. Glenn also works for the Department of Academic Enrichment and Learning as a graduate research assistant. Additionally, he is the secretary of the International Student Organization. Glenn enjoys spending quality time with his close friends and family.

 

 

 

 

Lea Prinos
Resident Advisor

Lea is currently a sophomore majoring in Exercise Science. In her spare time, she loves to watch movies. Also, she is big on cooking, there is nothing she loves more than cooking for her friends and family. After college, she is hoping to get a masters in occupational therapy.

 

 

 

 

 

Rachael Swartz
Resident Advisor

Rachael is from Newton, NJ. She is a senior majoring in Integrated Art and Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts and minoring in Photography and Graphics. Rachael is a designer at the Graphics Center on campus and is a part of the Art Association, Ridge Council, RHA, and the Outings Club. In Rachael’s free time she loves to be outside snowboarding, longboarding, fishing, and hiking.

 

 

 

 

Layla Irby
Resident Advisor

Layla is from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She is a Junior majoring in Hotel Restaurant Tourism Management and Spanish. Along with being a Resident Advisor, Layla is also an Orientation Leader and a member of Student Senate as well as a student worker at the Office of Multicultural Affairs. She loves to travel and try new things.
