At the Ridge since 3/12/2009
Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Jeff’s Jayhawk roots took him to the University of Kansas for his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2005. At Kansas, he was a Senior Resident Assistant for three years in the Jayhawker Towers which was and is the Residence Hall for the Kansas basketball team. His experience as a RA led him to his current career in student affairs.
Jeff continued on his educational path to the University of Central Missouri where he studied College Student Personnel Administration earning his Masters of Science. After graduating, he accepted as a Residence Hall Director at the University at Buffalo and remained in that position for two years before accepting the Director position at the University Ridge Apartments in 2009.
In his spare time, Jeff enjoys watching movies, cooking, and playing outdoors with his three sons.
Assistant Director of Residence Life

Luke is originally from the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Northampton High School! Go KIDS! He did his undergraduate work at ESU where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. During his junior year at ESU, he was hired as a Resident Advisor in Laurel Hall and immediately fell in love with working in student affairs. After graduation, Luke became the Graduate Hall Director of Laurel Hall and eventually became the Resident Director in Linden Hall. When University Ridge was built and opened in 2005, Luke was hired as the Assistant Director for Student Affairs at the Ridge, and the rest is history!
For Luke, the best part of his job is advising and working with students. He oversees 3 summer RAs and 7 academic years RAs. He also oversees all conduct violations at the Ridge as well as programming.
For fun, Luke is a huge TV buff watching anything from talk shows, to reality TV, to cheesy made-for-TV movies. He also loves to travel and explore new places. Luke is heavily involved in local community theatre and enjoys spending time in NYC.
Assistant Director of Operations

Amy is a native of East Stroudsburg, PA. Amy is experienced in customer service related fields; from starting out at 16 years old as a cashier at a local burger joint to currently holding the title of Assistant Director of Operations for University Ridge Apartments. Some of her job responsibilities are paying invoices, completing building inspections, working with vendors, and maintaining a close relationship with the ESU Housing Office. Amy strives to know as many residents by name she can each year and loves to have conversations with students who come into the office. Amy has done everything from being a cashier to selling automotive chemicals. She is great at problem solving and loves working with the students at University Ridge!
In Amy’s spare time, she likes to read, enjoy the outdoors, watch movies and comedy stand up, and relax with her husband and daughter.
Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor

Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA. and moved to the suburbs with his family when he was ten years old. He went to Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, Pa. and Joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating High School for a four year service enlistment term and received an honorable discharge after his term of service.
He went to school at Pence Technical Institute in Bristol, PA. and received an Associate’s degree in Electronics, and then took a job at an apartment complex in Horsham, PA. working there for seventeen years before moving to the Poconos.
Joe heard about the Maintenance Technician position at the Ridge from a classmate in a air conditioning/refrigeration continuing education course program and was hired to perform maintenance there for four years before his promotion to the Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor position.
Joe’s favorite past times are fishing, growing vegetables and cooking.

Rich is originally from Linden, NJ and lived there for 30 years before moving to Marshalls Creek, PA in 1990. He is a 1978 graduate of Linden High School’s Vocational Graphic Arts program and worked in the printing industry for many years. He also worked as a delivery associate at Sysco Foodservice for 18 years making deliveries mainly in NYC.
Growing up, Rich’s parents owned rental property which led to him owning rental properties as well. He found his true calling in 2007 when he was hired by University Ridge as a Groundskeeper/Custodian, before being promoted to Maintenance Technician in 2010.
Rich enjoys living in the Poconos with his wife Julie, camping, traveling our great country and others, maintaining his rental properties, beekeeping, and working at University Ridge!

Melvin Bannerman, Jr.
At the Ridge since 8/1/2014
Mel was born in the Bronx, NY and lived there for 35 years before moving to the Poconos in 2010. He graduated from Lincoln High School and worked for Columbus Delivery Service and New York City Shelter Services for four years as a custodian. Mel started at the Ridge by way of a temp service and did so well that he was hired full time when a position officially opened.
Mel enjoys family outings, off-roading, cooking, and great conversations.
2014-2015 Resident Advisors
Alexa is from Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is a junior at ESU, studying Special Education, and is involved in numerous on and off campus organizations. Alexa is a peer mentor on campus for the STAR peer mentoring program, a member of the 2014 spring semester dean’s list, recipient of the 2014 APSCUF Scholarship, and she also has previous experience in the RA position. Off campus, Alexa is affiliated with a children’s youth organization where she commits her time to coaching various sports. She’s dedicated to bettering the lives of the youth within her community, and she thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family. In her spare time, Alexa enjoys watching her father coach high school football, and she’s also a fan of collegiate and professional football as well. Alexa is a proud warrior who hopes to make your stay at the Ridge as comforting and enjoyable as possible!
Tom transferred to ESU in the fall of 2013 from the County College of Morris in NJ. He is now a senior studying Exercise Science with a focus on Sports and Exercise Conditioning. He is originally from Chester, New Jersey. He is involved in the ESU Exercise Science Club and plans on joining the Badminton Club this year. During breaks from school he works at the Flanders Shoprite in NJ and volunteers for strength and conditioning camps. In his free time, Tom enjoys the beach, going to the gym, hiking, seeing movies and playing video games.
Allie is from Milford, PA. She is a senior studying Biology Secondary Education and Spanish Secondary Education. At ESU Allie is a peer mentor for the STAR program. This semester she is student teaching! Allie loves to swim, be outside, and simply have fun! She absolutely loves ESU, and is really school spirited. She loves being involved around campus, and if anyone wants her to come to their campus related event, she would gladly come! The Ridge is the coolest place on campus to live ;-). Come to the RA social events!!!
Alyssa transferred to ESU Fall of 2013. She is currently a junior majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Spanish. Alyssa is from Pottstown, PA. On her free time she enjoys shopping, traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with friends.
Marquis was born and raised in Harlem New York. She is a Communication major with a concentration in Media as well as a minor in English. Her hobbies consist of writing poetry, reading, and listening to gospel and neosoul music. Marquis also enjoys watching classic and independent movies. Her experience at ESU and the Ridge is proving to be a unique experience by which she is learning a lot about herself. Marquis is excited to take on this journey as an RA.
Lucia is from New York City and loves to read and listen to music. Her major is Social Work and when she first made the transfer over to ESU, she was immediately put into my major classes! Throughout her sophomore year, Lucia learned many things and met many people who were willing to help her achieve her goals. This gave Lucia the drive to continue her education at ESU. Now, Lucia is a junior and a first time RA at University Ridge, which will help her to meet other people and allow her a whole new learning experience. Lucia is just elated for this opportunity. ESU has given her new experiences, a chance to meet new and exciting people and even greater opportunities in all aspects of her time at ESU.
Christine was born and raised in quaint Doylestown Pennsylvania and transferred to ESU in spring 2014. She is working to get her BS in Rehabilitation and Human Services by 2016 and further her education in Graduate School. She loves to get involved with little things around campus and is part of RSSO. When she is not buried in her studies, you can find Christine outdoors exploring, hanging with her friends and family, or listening to music. She hopes to make it a pleasant experience for everyone who resides at the Ridge this year.
